Sunday Slowdown at Spiral Manila

Several Sundays ago, N and I were invited to join the Mommy & Me brunch at Spiral Restaurant at Sofitel Manila (Thanks Jackie!).  I had a bazaar that day so I was yaya-less as both my yayas had to set-up for the bazaar.  E had to tag along with Achi and me. Fortunately, he cooperated.

Stan and I spent our last anniversary at Spiral Manila.  I also purchased an Accor Advantage card early this year and in fact, we will be celebrating N's graduation at Spiral this week.   Thus, when we received the invitation from Blessy and Jane of Sofitel's E-commerce group, I immediately said yes and brought both kids along.

Sunday brunches are special buffet days for Spiral Manila.  Aside from the standard 21 Ateliers, because Sunday is family day, there is a special cookie making atelier especially for kids!  Plus kids below 4 eat for free while kids from 4- 11 years old get 50% discount on food.  Spiral also had activities for kids so it wasn't difficult braving lunch sans yaya with 2 kids.

Dining at Spiral Manila may seem overwhelming with a variety of choices with their 21 Ateliers.  However, I have found that the best strategy is to focus on a couple of cuisines to enjoy the food.  Of course, the cheese room (L'Epicerie) is always on my list.  But for this visit, I chose to focus on the French Stove and Wooden Fire ateliers, enjoying the cheese and shrimp pizza, the beef with couscous and the baked lobsters.

Also a must-try on Sundays and dinnertime would be the foie gras options.  During our anniversary, Stan and I had foie gras with salmon.  For this visit, it was on small tarts with beef short ribs - yum!

Aside from the coloring pages and cookie making atelier, the kids were also entertained by The Little Prince himself who handed our chocolates.  There was also a roving balloon man who made customized designs to suit each child's preference.

Sofitel Manila has also become a popular staycation destination for Metro Manila residents.  I live near the hotel so I haven't stayed there.  We did avail of the Accor Advantage card to be able to dine at Spiral more often.  In fact, we took advantage of their recent International Women's month promo and dined there to celebrate N's graduation.

For families who dine and stay in Sofitel Manila, the kids can enjoy the activities at their playground and craft center.  Patrons of Spiral Manila get 1 hour use for their kids if they spend at least P5,000.
