Online Shopping? Try Taste Central

As a full time working mom, I am addicted to online shopping.  My favorite local deal site is Deal Grocer.  I have booked several vacations through them - from Misibis Bay, Crimson Resort, Taal Vista plus countless of vouchers for lunches and dinners in various restaurants.

I was pleasantly surprised and excited when they launched a shopping site - Taste Central.  I am a huge fan of shopping sites such as Zulily, Gilt and HauteLook.  However, since these are US-based sites, I have to wait for months before I get my purchase.

Taste Central makes various brands - both local and foreign - easily available for immediate purchase.  They generously sent the SoMoms shopping credits and asked us to try out their site.  New products and brands are uploaded every Sunday so I made sure to schedule my shopping day on a weekend.

To be honest, most of my shopping is now for the kids and my husband.  Happily, Taste Central has a lot of items for them.
To start, you can log-in using your Deal Grocer account. Since I'm a Deal Grocer Platinum member, I get free shipping at Taste Central.  The products are grouped according to category and you can also see the items on "Sale" or "Special" with one click.

Because we have several trips coming up which will be spent in beaches and theme parks, I opted to get Babiators for the kids.  Meanwhile, Mr. Ong and I love coffee and home massages.  Hence, I included a set of Blue Kitchen Coffee and a set of VitaOils Mulberry Healing Oils Set.  I also purchased a Farm to Table Modern Twist Kidz Box for N.

I added items to my cart by clicking the "Buy Now" button then "Add to Cart".  You do have to shop quickly because Taste Central holds items in your shopping cart only for 30 minutes.  If you are not a Platinum Deal Grocer member, you have to pay a flat rate shipping fee of P100 - regardless of the number of items you order.  I settled my order via Paypal.  I placed my order on a Sunday and received everything on Wednesday.  Talk about speedy service!

 Opening a Taste Central package is like opening presents!  Everything was very well wrapped to prevent spills and broken pieces.   The receipt was included and packaged in a cardboard envelope.  To prevent the items from bouncing about in the box, they added paper to cushion.

Purchasing at Taste Central is simple, easy and dangerous to my wallet!  Whatever great service I received from Deal Grocer was replicated in my experience with Taste Central.  They have a repeat customer in me for sure!
