Introducing Mommy Mundo SoMoms

During the early days of N, the internet was my best friend.  I was always chatting with friends especially about breastfeeding and newborn care.   I also didn't work for the first 6 months of N's life and found that I had too much time on my hands.  I was micromanaging our household and bugging S to death.  I decided to bring in nursing bras because I noticed that there were very limited options locally available.

I initially thought of starting a blog in the lines of the Motherwear Breastfeeding Blog to help promote my business.  However, I found myself blogging about all sorts of things eventually talking about other natural parenting topics.  The blog soon grew a life of its own and gained its own followers.  In fact, there have been several shop customers who become surprised to find out that I blog at COANM.

I eventually set up my Facebook page and Twitter accounts and have been active in social media since. Linking the two accounts has allowed me to share updates about breastfeeding, babywearing, baby led feeding, healthy eating, cloth diapering and all other natural parenting topics that interest me.  I find that sharing links and short thoughts through these forms of media have allowed me to engage my readers and respond to them promptly.

Being active in blogging and social media has also allowed me to meet new friends who share similar interests and respect each other's diverse opinions.  To share our thoughts and reach more people,  we have banded together to form the Mommy Mundo Social Media Moms or the SoMoms.
We do not strive to become copies of each and think as one.   Instead, we celebrate and respect each other's differences and recognize that there is beauty in diversity.  Each mom is unique and our points of view are relevants to moms spanning all lifestyles - working moms, single moms, business moms, stay at home moms, etc.

Among the twelve of us, we share a wide range of beliefs and advocacies, including breastfeeding, babywearing, natural parenting, time management, mompreneurship, home management, beauty, fashion, health plus more.  We would like to engage the readers of our individual blogs, share our discoveries, create conversations and build relationships.

To know more about Mommy Mundo SoMoms, visit this page.  You can also contact us via email.  The SoMoms will be launched during the upcoming Mommy Mundo Bazaar on 24-25 November 2012.

Incidentally, my store Mama.Baby.Love will have a booth near my friends Mamaway  and Nursingmom.   The Mommy Mundo SoMoms will also be having 1 booth so you can visit and asks us questions about our blogs, advocacies or even the mundane where can I buy xxx at this bazaar?  We'd love to meet our readers, chat with you and learn more about you and what you'd like to see in our blogs.

To launch SoMoms, Mommy Mundo has generously offered a giveaway to COANM readers.  One reader will win a Mommy Mundo set which includes a complimentary Mommy Mundo Privilege Passport, 1 Mom 24/7 Planner, free entrance to the bazaar plus a shopping bag.   The contest will run from 14 - 21 November 2012.  Winner will be announced on 22 November 2012.  The prize is completely transferable (so you can join and win this for your sister, girl friend, etc. ) BUT must be claimed at the Mommy Mundo Bazaar.  Failure to claim the prize personally will result in forfeiture of the same.

If you can't wait, you can also purchase your Mommy Mundo Privilege Passport from this link.  Having the Privilege Passport will give you free entrance to the event and also a complimentary copy of the Mom 24/7 Planner.  Meanwhile, you can see the list of participating vendors to the bazaar here and get your shopping lists ready.

Just want a planner?  Considering buying the Mom 24/7 2013 Planner.  Despite being socially connected, I still rely on my traditional planner to manage my schedules and keep tabs on Stan's and my kids' lives.   The Ultimate Mom Planner includes health record pages, a family vacation planner, party planning pages and even a menstrual tracker.  Definitely, since we all want an organized home, this planner will be helpful as it has pages for money matters, grocery lists, menu planner, household help records plus more.  Because we should ignore our own needs, there is a special portion for mom's personal development where we can list our goals and ideas.   Click here for more information on where to purchase the planner.
